Veeda AI has raised more than US$90 million ($124 million CAD) in seed financing, co-led by Toronto’s Radical Ventures and Silicon Valley’s Khosla Ventures, according to The Logic, which first reported the round, with SiliconANGLE and Unite.AI confirming the figure independently.

The company, legally incorporated in June as Veeda Innovation Inc., was founded by Sanja Fidler, who spent eight years running Nvidia’s Toronto AI lab, along with fellow Nvidia veterans Zan Gojcic and Huan Ling.

SiliconANGLE and Unite.AI both describe it as one of the largest seed rounds raised by a Canadian startup. The company is roughly three months old.

Veeda builds world models: systems trained on physical, spatial and movement data rather than text, designed to let robots train in simulated environments before acting in the real world, per The Globe and Mail.
