Indian Startup Rocket Launches Consulting-Style Platform

Rocket, an Indian startup based in Surat, has unveiled its new platform, Rocket 1.0, designed to streamline the development of product strategies with AI-generated consulting-style reports. This launch positions Rocket as a cost-effective alternative to traditional consulting services, which often command high fees.

Rocket’s platform integrates research, product development, and competitive intelligence into a single workflow. It generates comprehensive product strategy documents that include pricing, unit economics, and go-to-market recommendations. The platform aims to address a gap in the market by helping users decide what to build, rather than just how to build it.

According to Rocket’s co-founder and CEO, Vishal Virani, while AI has made coding more accessible, the strategic decision-making process remains a challenge for many businesses. The platform’s ability to produce detailed reports from simple prompts offers a McKinsey-style alternative at a fraction of the cost. Subscription plans range from $25 to $350 per month, depending on the level of access and features required.

## Context and Competition

Rocket’s entry into the market comes as AI-powered coding tools have become increasingly prevalent. Competitors like Cursor, Replit, and Lovable focus on code generation, but Rocket differentiates itself by emphasizing strategic planning over coding execution. The platform leverages over 1,000 data sources, including Meta’s ad libraries and Similarweb’s API, to provide insights into market trends and competitive landscapes.

Despite its capabilities, users are advised to validate the platform’s outputs with additional research, as some analyses are synthesized from existing data. Rocket does offer human support to assist users when needed.

## Market Implications

Rocket’s approach signals a shift in how businesses might approach product development and strategy. By lowering the cost barrier to high-quality strategic insights, Rocket could democratize access to consulting services, particularly for small- and medium-sized businesses. The startup’s growth from 400,000 to over 1.5 million users across 180 countries underscores a strong demand for such solutions.

Backed by a $15 million seed round from investors like Accel and Salesforce Ventures, Rocket is poised to expand its influence in the consulting space. With gross margins exceeding 50% and a significant portion of its customer base comprising small businesses, the company is well-positioned for further growth.

Looking ahead, Rocket’s continued expansion and user adoption could challenge traditional consulting firms and reshape how businesses develop product strategies. The startup’s ability to maintain its growth trajectory will be crucial in sustaining its competitive edge in the evolving landscape of AI-driven business solutions.
