Samsung Galaxy A57 and A37 Expected to Launch in Canada
Samsung is gearing up to introduce two new smartphones to the Canadian market, the Galaxy A57 and A37. These devices have recently appeared on Canada’s Radio Equipment List (REL), indicating their imminent arrival. The REL is a database that certifies devices for use in Canada, often providing a glimpse into upcoming releases.
### The New Devices
The Galaxy A57 is set to feature Samsung’s Exynos 1680 chip, with 8GB of RAM and options for 128GB or 256GB of storage. However, only one model is expected to be available in Canada. It will sport a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 5,000mAh battery, and a 50-megapixel primary camera. The device will run on Android 16 with One UI 8.5 and will be available in multiple colors, including Awesome Gray and Awesome Icyblue.
The Galaxy A37, on the other hand, will come with an Exynos 1480 processor, offering either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and similar storage options. It shares many features with the A57, including the display and camera specifications.
### Market Context
Samsung’s move to introduce these models in Canada comes as the company continues to expand its presence in the mid-range smartphone market. The Galaxy A series is known for delivering premium features at more accessible prices, aiming to capture a broad consumer base. The launch follows the announcement of the Galaxy S26 series, which is set to arrive on March 11, highlighting Samsung’s strategy to cater to both high-end and mid-range markets.
### Industry Implications
The introduction of the Galaxy A57 and A37 in Canada underscores the competitive landscape in the smartphone industry, where manufacturers are vying for market share in various segments. Samsung’s focus on enhancing its mid-range offerings could put pressure on competitors like Xiaomi and Motorola, which also target this consumer segment. The Canadian market, known for its tech-savvy consumers, presents a valuable opportunity for Samsung to strengthen its foothold.
As Samsung prepares for the launch of these devices, the exact release date remains undisclosed. However, their appearance on the REL suggests that Canadian consumers can expect them soon. The addition of these models will likely bolster Samsung’s position in the mid-range market, offering consumers more choices in terms of features and pricing.
