Bell emerged as the frontrunner in terms of mobile network speed, particularly in 5G, with a Speed Score of 60.66. The telecom giant achieved a download speed of 107.51 Mbps, surpassing its closest competitor, Telus, which recorded 101.95 Mbps. Bell also recorded an upload speed of 9.76 Mbps and a latency of 42ms, securing its position as the fastest network in Canada.

While Bell dominated in speed, Telus was recognized for network consistency, with 85.6% of its samples meeting the base threshold of 5Mbps for download speed. Bell followed closely at 84.5%, with Rogers at 83.3%.

Rogers Shines in Video Experience

Rogers excelled in providing the best video experience, earning a score of 86.03. This score, based on video start time, uninterrupted playback, and full HD resolution, placed Rogers ahead of Telus and Bell. Additionally, Rogers led in 5G availability, with 86.7% of its customers accessing 5G services frequently.

Market Implications

These findings highlight the competitive landscape among Canada’s top telecom providers. As consumers increasingly demand high-speed connectivity and seamless video streaming, these metrics could influence customer choices and market shares. The report underscores the need for telecom companies to continue investing in infrastructure and technology to meet growing expectations.

Looking Ahead

As the telecom industry evolves, these performance metrics will be crucial in shaping consumer perceptions and driving competition. The ongoing advancements in 5G and network capabilities will likely continue to be a focal point for providers seeking to enhance their offerings.
